IMAGINE WHAT LIVING IN OUR MICRO-VILLAGE WILL BE LIKE—FAMILY FEELING, FRIENDSHIPS, COOPERATION, AND PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP.

At Prospector Village, prepare to immerse yourself in a relaxing and beautiful environment where affordability and community connectivity reign supreme. Take a stroll along the NID canal, have a glass of wine or cup of coffee with a friend at the community center, pick fruits and vegetables from the communal garden, sit back in the plaza and admire the Miners Fountain as music accompanies its dazzling water features, be a kid again with your family in the children's playground, watch a movie or concert at our quaint amphitheater, cool off in our community pool, sit outside on your porch with your favorite book, or just chat with a neighbor on a picnic bench in the common green area. Whatever you decide, you'll feel good about doing it, knowing deep down that you're not breaking the bank.

Help us meet our Fundraising goal

Let's work together to support affordable housing. To jumpstart our fundraising drive, the founder will match all charitable pledges up to a total of $200K. There are housing projects planned for our area, but apartment rentals and homes starting at $400K don't address the need for affordable for-sale housing. With your help, we can bring homeownership to those in Nevada County who have been priced out of the market. Our organization welcomes for-profit and nonprofit partnerships as well as volunteers who have construction, public relations, and grant writing experience.

COMMUNITY NEWS

“If we want a California for All, we have to build housing for all.”

Gavin Newsom, CA Governor

“We need 300 units of low, or very low, income housing."

Brendan Phillips, N.C. Housing Resource Manager

"The American Dream is to buy a home."

Mimi Simmons, Broker/Realtor for Century 21 Cornerstone Realty

"Other local housing developments are building single-family homes priced at $400K to $600K and higher.  Who can afford homes like that? What really is needed are studio apts. of 300-400 sq. ft; 1- and 2-bedroom units of 400-500 sq. ft., plus a selection of small townhouses and condos."

Darrell Berkheimer, Columnist - The Union

"We really need more partners to increase our construction capacity."

Lorraine Larson, Executive Director for N.C. Habitat for Humanity
